Land's End to John O' Groats
Charity Mini Drive
Total raised for 2007: £800
LEJOG (Land's End to John O' Groats) started when someone asked where were we going next month and Terry replied John O’ Groats. The idea was to get everyone from Land's End to John O’ Groats in a convoy. The event is organised through the sterling efforts of Linda and Terry Baker of the North Devon Mini Register who are also responsible for putting on the Grand Tour each year.
The Blowin' Tyres team, consisting of the mother and daughter pairing of Carol and Michelle Stone, has been taking part every year since 2000, which makes this our 8th year. (Foot and mouth caused the event to be cancelled in 2001). We earned our name in 2005 after getting a blow out on a precarious bend, with a Police car right behind us! Last year we took on the challenge - we were lead car. We didn't lose too many people, and when we got lost, we all got lost together! We will be Car Number 1 again this year.
LEJOG is now a major fund-raising event for the Children's Hospice South West, while we focus our efforts on Demelza House Children's Hospice, based in Kent.
